Kelly & Warren

Hoping to Adopt (Texas)

We love going places. Throughout the years we have driven as far as California and Virginia. We have traveled around the US, to Canada, and Peru. Warren and Alek like backpacking trips. We do lots of camping as a family and with friends. It is fun to see the kids building forts, making flower crowns, mud pies, roasting marshmallows, singing around the campfire, and falling asleep from exhaustion, all to start all over again the next day! There have been times when Warren had to travel and Alek and Kelly were able to tag along. This has made for fun memories for them, exploring other places and taking advantage of swimming at the hotels they stayed at. Kelly treasures these times together and loves that her work schedule is open at the same time as the kids' school breaks. She always says "I don't want to miss a thing!" Life passes too quickly!

Our home is a happy place. We are so blessed to have found this house when we did. We love hosting and having people over. Our yard is full of pecan trees and there is plenty of room for our dog Charlie to run and play with the kids. We enjoy grilling, playing music and games, or just sitting and visiting around the fire pit during the cooler months. We believe the small moments of life are some of the most important. Our "I love you's," our hugs, our everyday interactions are what make the most memorable times. This is home. Alek's words about our town: "I've lived in this town for a long time. One thing that I really like is that I went from Kindergarten to 5th grade in the same school, so now I have many friends in middle school. Our house is very open and bright. It has a big backyard. I also like that there are many new restaurants coming in to town." We are planning to stay in this community. We love our schools, our neighbors, and our local church. Our kids will have the opportunity to participate in sports, band, and other activities according to their likes and interests. We have been intentional in having playdates throughout the years and will keep doing so as we see our children's friendships develop.

Our dog Charlie

We have a family dog named Charlie. We brought him from the animal shelter 9 years ago as a puppy. He is a really good dog with a very funny personality. He loves kids and especially the attention he gets from them when they come over.
